Terms of Service for Afrah Therapy

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of psychological therapy services provided by Afrah Therapy. By booking an appointment or receiving our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Services Provided
We offer the following psychological therapy services:
- Individual therapy sessions
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Psychological assessments
- Clinical consultations
- Other evidence-based therapeutic interventions
All services are provided by qualified and registered clinical psychologists or therapists under appropriate supervision.
3. Appointment Booking
3.1 Booking Process
- Appointments are booked through our Calendly system
- You must provide accurate and complete information when booking
- Appointment confirmation will be sent via email
3.2 Cancellation Policy
- Appointments must be cancelled at least 48 hours in advance
- Late cancellations or no-shows may incur the full session fee
- Repeated cancellations may result in discharge from the service
3.3 Rescheduling
Subject to availability, appointments can be rescheduled with at least 48 hours' notice.
4. Fees and Payment
4.1 Session Fees
- Our current fee structure is available upon request
- Fees are subject to periodic review
- You will be notified of any fee changes in advance

- Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise agreed
- We accept various payment methods as detailed during booking
- Invoices can be provided for insurance or employer reimbursement
4.3 Insurance
If you have private health insurance, please check your coverage before booking. We can provide necessary documentation for claims.
5. Client Responsibilities
As a client, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information about your health and circumstances
- Attend appointments on time
- Actively participate in your treatment
- Follow agreed treatment plans and recommendations
- Inform us of any changes to your contact details or circumstances
- Treat our staff with respect and courtesy
- Pay fees as agreed
6. Confidentiality
6.1 General Confidentiality
All information shared during therapy is confidential and will be handled in accordance with professional ethical guidelines and our Privacy Policy.
6.2 Limits to Confidentiality
Confidentiality may be broken in the following circumstances:
- Risk of harm to yourself or others
- Safeguarding concerns, particularly involving children or vulnerable adults
- Court orders or legal requirements
- Professional supervision (anonymised)
- With your explicit written consent
7. Professional Standards
Our therapists maintain professional standards including:
- Current registration with relevant professional bodies
- Appropriate professional indemnity insurance
- Regular supervision and continuing professional development
- Adherence to professional codes of ethics and conduct
8. Boundaries of the Therapeutic Relationship
- The therapeutic relationship is professional, not personal
- Contact outside of scheduled appointments should be limited to administrative matters
- Dual relationships (social, business, etc.) are avoided to maintain professional boundaries
- Gifts of significant value cannot be accepted
9. Emergency Situations
Our service is not an emergency or crisis service. In case of emergency:
- Call 999 for immediate assistance
- Contact NHS 111 for urgent medical advice
- Go to your nearest A&E department
- Contact the Samaritans on 116 123 for crisis support
10. Intellectual Property
All therapeutic materials, resources, and content provided during sessions remain our intellectual property unless explicitly stated otherwise.
11. Limitation of Liability
- We provide therapy services with reasonable care and skill
- We cannot guarantee specific outcomes from therapy
- Our liability is limited to the extent permitted by law
- We maintain appropriate professional indemnity insurance
12. Complaints Procedure
If you have any concerns about our services:
- First, discuss concerns with your therapist
- If unresolved, contact our practice manager
- We will acknowledge complaints within 2 working days
- We aim to resolve complaints within 28 days
- If still unsatisfied, you may contact relevant professional bodies
13. Termination of Services
13.1 By Client
You may end therapy at any time. We recommend discussing this with your therapist to ensure appropriate closure.
13.2 By Therapist
We may terminate services if:
- Continued therapy is not in your best interests
- You require specialist services outside our scope
- There are repeated cancellations or non-payments
- Professional boundaries are violated
- Behaviour threatens safety of staff or other clients
14. Online/Remote Sessions
If we provide online therapy:
- You must ensure privacy and confidentiality at your location
- Technical issues are not grounds for refunds
- You must be physically located in the UK during sessions
- Recording of sessions is prohibited without written consent
15. Data Protection
Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and UK data protection laws. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for detailed information.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Afrah Therapy regarding our services.
19. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms. Changes will be posted on our website with an updated effective date. Continued use of our services after changes indicates acceptance of the new Terms.
